22 January 2013World Rankings are to based on the following three key principles:
1) All past kids and junior events who had special rules are to be excluded from the
Adult World Rankings, but included in Kids and Juniors rankings and record tables.
(Decision for future kids events TBD)

2) Kids and Juniors who competed in an adult competition like the WMC, National, Regional or International
are to be included in the Adult World Rankings.

3) Any event following the rules and procedures of the WMSC using one of the four official event types
are rankable. The four event types are
WMC Standard (compare WMC),
International Standard (compare German Open and UK Open),
National Standard (compare Friendly/Cambridge and Swedish Open) and
Regional Standard (compare German regionals.)
8 January 2013 Title of Grand Master of Memory will now be indicated as GMM after each recipients namd i.e. Johannes Mallow GMM
The World Rankings have been revised based on the recent announcement from WMSC "The World Rankings will in future reflect
only the results from competitions which are held to the common set of international standards laid down by the WMSC.
The results of competitions which deviate from the World Standards, for example, by varying the timing, order, scoring or duration
of the core disciplines, will be recognised in the National Ranking of that country only.
This rule will apply to all competitions held in 2013 onwards.
Any entries in the World Rankings from previously approved non-standard competitions will stand."
A significant adjustment to the World Rankings occurred as all Austrian, Thailand and German Children/Kids and Junior results
are no longer included in the world rankings. While these events are of course approved, they are not similar to the
Junior/Kids events conducted as part of the WMC or, for example, the Indian National Memory Championships.
